After departing from Washway Farm at 09.00am and St. Teresa’s Up Holland at 09.30 we drive directly to Cheltenham. This charming regency town is staging its 12th annual Christmas Market with many stalls lining the elegant parade. As well as this, the town has a large range of permanent shops and attractions. From here we transfer to our hotel the Hilton Puckrup Hall near Tewkesbury. The hotel has full leisure facilities. We will be staying for 2 nights on a dinner bed and breakfast basis.
Friday 1st December 2017
After a leisurely breakfast we will head to the Cotswolds. We will take a scenic drive through the towns and villages making a stop at Merton in Marsh, a charming market town located on the ancient Roman Fosse way.
Later we drive to nearby Bourton on the Water. There is always a festive event marking the beginning of the Christmas season and the village Christmas lights will be turned on with the centre piece being a large Christmas tree in the centre of the stream.
Saturday 2nd December 2017
The home of the Dukes of Marlborough given to the first duke after defeating the French at the Battle of Blenheim in the 17th Century.
This splendid Baroque estate was also the childhood home of Sir Winston Churchill. The interior is lavishly decorated and there will be a wide variety of craft stalls selling gifts and luxury foods. We also expect to have Carols performed by local Choirs.
We expect to be back in the North West for 6pm traffic permitting.
